2013 Africa champions Nigeria have boycotted a pre-match press conference ahead of their Group C tie with Guinea in the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Alexandria.
The Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa did not turn up for the pre-match presser in protest for their unpaid allowances.
According to www.busybuddiesng.com, manager Gernot Rohr showed up alone for the press conference without Musa and that’s when he revealed that the players were locked in a meeting with officials from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) over non-payment of allowances.
Online sources have it that Nigeria’s former sports Minister Solomon Dalung is the person to blame for all the chaos in the Super Eagles camp.
It’s said that “Dalung failed to include their budgets for national team assignments in the 2019 budget before the expiration of his tenure in May”.
