Moses Waiswa to miss AFCON due to injury

Uganda Cranes midfielder and Vipers Sports Club playmaker Moses Waiswa is set to miss out on the Africa Cup of Nations Finals in Egypt due injury.

It’s reported from the national team’s camp in Abu Dhabi that he sustained a knee injury and won’t be fit for the tournament.

“The technical team has confirmed the player will not take any part further in the camp in Abu Dhabi following medical assessments of the injury,” FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein told the federation’s website.

“Plans are underway to organise his travel back home for further treatment and recovery of the injury. It is a pity for the young man who had a dream to feature at the Continent’s biggest soccer show piece. We wish him a quick recovery,” he added.

With Waiswa out of the team, coach Desabre will be left with 27 players in camp from which he will name his final squad for the continental showpiece.
