Coach Desabre trims Uganda Cranes squad ahead of Abu Dhabi trip

Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre has trimmed his squad ahead of the team’s trip to Abu Dhabi in preparation for the 2019 Total AFCON Finals in Egypt.

Desabre named only eleven players from the squad that have been part of the ongoing residential camp at Kabira Country club and will be part of the 26 man Squad to be announced on Tuesday 21st May 2019 prior to the trip.

The 11 players include; Bevis Mugabi, Awanyi Timothy, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Godfrey Walusimbi, Muleme Isaac, Khalid Aucho, Tadeo Lwanga, Allan Kyambadde, Waisswa Moses, Sadam Juma, and Kaddu Henry.

The 11 players will then be joined by 15 foreign-based players to complete the 26-man contingent for the training camp in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, six of the players dropped from the senior AFCON squad will join Police FC lead tactician Abdallah Mubiru and Mbarara City’s Livingstone Mbabazi, who are in charge of the Uganda Cranes squad for COSAFA for training.

The six players are; Charles Lukwago, James Alitho, Okello Allan, Balinya Juma, Mujuzi Musitafa and Dan Serunkuma.

In a similar vein, three players have been dropped from the AFCON squad and will also miss out on the Cosafa squad.

These include Vipers’ Halid Lwaliwa, Egypt based Daniel Isiagi and Express left back Disan Galiwango.
