Sports Club Villa may have not won a league title in almost a decade and a half but that doesn’t strip them off of their gigantic status.
It was an epic show as the Jogoos hosted their league rivals KCCA Football Club at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL).
Second half substitute Jackson Nunda struck the winner for the Kasasiro Boys as they condemned Villa to a 3-2 defeat, making it their fourth in seven league fixtures.
Moses Basena’s side drew first blood through Albert Mugisha in the 14th minute but their joy of the lead was short lived by Julius Poloto’s equalizer just three minutes later.
The Yellow boys piled more pressure on the hosts and their efforts paid off when Manko Kaweesa connected the ball into the back of his own in the 35th minute.
Moments later Mutanda Bashir netted to level matters heading into halftime.
In the second half, Jackson Nunda was among the substitutions made when he replaced Lawrence Bukenya before scoring the winner that sent KCCA FC on the summit of the SUPL table with 15 points after seven games, and one ahead of Vipers who play Express on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Villa remain winless this season with just 3 points from as many games as KCCA.
