U-23 Qualifiers: Uganda Kobs to take South Sudan

Uganda will take on South Sudan in the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The U-23 national football team, the Kobs will play their immediate neighbours in the north in a doubleheader with games expected to be played between 12th and 20th November 2018.

The aggregate winner over two legs will then advance to face off with Tunisia in the second round between 18th and 26th in March 2019 to battle for a slot in the finals.

To prepare for the qualification campaign, “20 players have been summoned for a two-day non-residential training on Friday and Saturday-with the composition of U20 and U23 players,” according to Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).

Uganda Cranes assistant coach Ssalongo Mathias Lule will be in charge of the team but also “under the supervision of Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre”.

Egypt will then host the finals later on in 2019.
