Vipers Sports Club have continued with their busy transfer activity ahead of the 2018/2019 season during which they will represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League.
The Venoms have signed Kenyan striker Noah Wafula from Kakamega Homeboys. The development was confirmed by the Uganda Premier League champions on their website.
“Vipers sports club continues its transfer spending business with the latest capture of Kenyan striker Noah Wafula who joins from Kakamega Homeboys for undisclosed fee,” reads part of the statement.
The former AFC Leopards, Finlays Horticulture and Tusker FC forward is reported to have signed a three-year deal with the Kitende based club and immediately joined the rest of the team in Mbale for a camp.
There has been an exodus of players from Vipers who included skipper Nicholas Wakiro Wadada, forward Clovis Mbayi who was released and Erisa Keith Ssekisambu is on the verge of his exit, not to mention Dan Sserunkuma is reportedly away for trails.
This leaves Steven Mukwala as the only striker hence justifying the signing of a new attacker. Rumors also suggest that number one goalkeeper Isma Watenga could be on his way out following his exclusion from the squad that made the trip for a preseason camp in Mbale.
Wafula joins a long list of players that have been recruited in this window that closes in a fortnight. Among these are Rahmat Ssenfuka, Fred Okot, Ibrahim Kiyemba, Livingston Mulondo, Henry katongole and Bashir Sekagya (a goalkeeper) among many others.
