Crystal Palace have completed the signing of German midfielder Max Meyer Bundesliga side Schalke O4 on a free transfer.
The development followed the expiry of the 22-year-old’s contract with the club. The midfielder signed a three-year contract with the Eagles.
He becomes the third summer recruit at Selhurst Park after goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from Getafe and Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate from West Ham United.
"I'm proud to be here and I hope I can make the next step in my career," he said.
Meyer made 192 appearances after coming through the club’s youth ranks and scored 22 goals and made 24 assists.
His former side Schalke finished second in the Bundesliga last season, 21 points adrift of the champions Bayern Munich.
Crystal Palace finished 11th in the Premier League last season.
