Everton Football Club have finally agreed to a £45m deal for Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
According to BBC Sport, the 27-year-old will undergo “a medical on Wednesday at Goodison Park”.
The Iceland International who netted nine times for the Swans last season will become the Toffee’s record signing if he completes the move, beating departed striker Romelu Lukaku who joined the Merseyside outfit for £31.8m from Chelsea in 2014.
Initial talks between the two clubs had collapsed after Swansea slapped a £50m price tag on the midfielder before rejecting £40m bids from Leicester and Everton in July.
Sigurdsson has scored 30 goals for Swansea in all competitions since rejoining them from Tottenham where he spent two years.
Sigurdsson stats according to BBC Sport:
7 - Since his Premier League debut, Sigurdsson has scored more free-kicks than any other player
8 - Sigurdsson provided more assists last season from dead ball situations than any other player in the Premier League
34 - With 34 goals Sigurdsson is Swansea's top scorer in the Premier League
29 - With 29 assists Sigurdsson is Swansea's most prolific creator of goals in the Premier League
433 - Sigurdsson covered more distance (kilometres) in the Premier League than any other player last season.
