The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has lined up an international friendly match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
According to the local football governing body, the game will be played “at Asaba Stadium on Tuesday 20th November 2018.”
The big tie will come in the aftermath of Uganda’s crucial tie against Cape Verde in the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
This was confirmed by the federation’s communication department in a statement published on their website;
“The Uganda Cranes technical team will make use of the FIFA International break that runs from 12th-20thNovember by playing a high profile friendly with the former African Champions. Matches between these two soccer giants have always been so close since time immemorial,” reads part of the statement.
“A 30man contingent will depart on 18th November 2018 for the trip to Nigeria. The foreign based players in the contingent will then connect to their respective clubs after the friendly,” the statement further clarifies as quoted from Ahmed Hussein
Uganda and Nigeria last met in 2015 with the Cranes pipping the Super Eagles by 1-0 at Ibo Akwa Stadium.
