Police Football Club have changed their home ground to the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
The Cops relocate from the National ground of Mandela Stadium, Namboole citing congestion. The new Uganda Premier League sponsors of StarTimes recently asserted that they will only televise games from three grounds i.e. Namboole Stadium, St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende and the Lugogo artificial turf stadium.
The development has since seen Sports Club Villa return back to Namboole as their home ground, shifting from Masaka Recreational Grounds where they spent the previous campaign.
It also goes without saying the FUFA compliance rules for new season require a team to have a pitch that has no single portion of bare soil (without grass) according to FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.
“StarTimes stadium, Lugogo is our new home,” the club confirmed.
This brings the total number of teams that will be hosting their games at the StarTimes Stadium to three after KCCA FC and FUFA Big League side Proline FC.
Although the league fixtures are yet to be released, the 2018/2019 campaign is expected to kick on Friday 28th September.
