Uganda Cranes striker Patrick Kaddu scored twice as Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) beat Wakiso Giants by 2-0 in the Phillip Omondi Invitational Cup clash on Friday afternoon.
Kaddu broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark with a brilliant strike on the far post. The Yellow and blue boys held onto that lead until halftime.
In the second stanza, he doubled the lead with a header for the home side as he marked his second on the day to give KCCA the much needed victory.
In the earlier game of the same competition, reigning champions Proline Football Club edged Nyamityobora FC by 1-0.
KCCA now lead the trophy chasing table with 5 points while Proline follow on 4 points. A victory earns one three points, a draw is equivalent to one point as well as each goal scored.
The pre-season tournament ends on Saturday when hosts KCCA play Nyamityobora while Proline take on Wakiso Giants. The eventual champions will win UG 1million shillings in cash prizes while the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament will get 200,000.
