The Uganda National Under-17 football team, the Cubs beat Ethiopia 3-1 on Sunday to qualify for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Samson Kasozi scored a 15th minute strike to give Uganda the lead that they held onto until halftime.
Idd Abdul, who features for the Onduparaka FC Junior side netted a second half brace in the 61st and 85th minute respectively to eventually see Uganda to victory.
Mintensnot Wakjira scored from the penalty spot to earn Ethiopia their only consolation late in the game before walking home with the top scorers’ accolade.
Meanwhile, Tanzania’s Kevin Jones was voted as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament.
The finals will be held next May in Tanzania.
