On Monday 13th August 2018, Uganda Premier League (UPL) outfit Bright Stars Football Club unveiled Yoshino Trading Limited as their new sponsors for the 2018/2019 season.
The one-year deal worth US$40,000 comes along with a brand new team bus to be availed by Yoshino Trading.
The well-attended unveiling ceremony went down at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe, Entebbe, where the club host their home games.
Club Chairman Ronald Mutebi, President of Yoshino Trading Nakanishi Shunsuke, Director/General Manager Yamaguchi Taiki, the Japanese Ambassador to Uganda H.E Kazuaki Kemeda, Soltilo General Manager Yo Tabuchi, UPL head of Marketing and Communications Gordon Roy Mundeyi, players and club officials were all present to witness the deal.
“We are greatly pleased by this partnership. Since 2011, we have been the importing and dealers of vehicles from Japan in Uganda. We have offered $ 40,000 in a one year deal with a team bus which becomes a team’s permanent asset,” Mr. Nakanishi said.
“Yoshino Trading is excited to partner with Bright Stars FC and Soltilo,” he added.
Chairman Mutebi expressed his joy about the new deal, saying;
“We are happy about the sponsorship from Yoshino Trading. We commit ourselves to give the sponsor the due mileage as we also call upon the football people to promote such companies which impact for the better club football and develop the national team.”
Previously, the Kawempe based side has had sponsors like Lato Milk, Ferro Mobile, Kings Sports Bet and SMS media.
