We “will keep improving by the day”—Villa’s Moses Basena

New Sports Club Villa head coach Moses Basena is confident that his side “will keep improving by the day” as times goes on.

Basena, a former Villa player and ex-Uganda Cranes interim boss made the remarks on Thursday following his side’s 1-0 victory over Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) in the FUFA Super 8 tournament.

On the afternoon at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, new acquisition Abdulrahman Ajab scored the only goal of the game as the Jogoos pipped Sam Ssimbwa’s Tax Collectors.

Basena acknowledged the fact that his side struggled through the game but promised improvement.

“First of all, the display showed a team that is just starting,” Basena noted after the game.

“We struggled a lot at the end of first half and in the second. We also gave away free kicks in dangerous areas but those are things we’ll be working on in training,” he added.

“Am happy that I formed a team in a short period and are already showing signs of doing well. They will keep improving by the day.”
