Former Uganda Cranes Interim Boss Named New SC Villa Gaffer

Former Uganda Cranes interim boss Moses Basena has been named as the new Sports Club Villa gaffer.

Basena, a former Jogoo was appointed on Friday 27th July 2018 by the club's interim administration led by William Nkemba. The others on the administration board include Norbert Kazibwe, Hajj Haruna Jjagwe, Moses Matovu, James Serebe and Joseph Kizito.

Villa’s head coach position was rendered vacant following the departure of coach Wasswa Bbosa at the end of the season and has since been appointed as the new Soana FC lead tactician.

Former Esperance and KCCA FC sensational midfielder Jackson Mayanja had also been considered to take over at the Jogoos.

Basena, a CAF “A” coaching license holder will now be tasked to assemble a backroom staff and then immediately embark on player recruit following the massive exodus at Villa Park since the resignation of Eng. Ben Immanuel Misagga as club President.
