Twelve-time league champions Kampala Capital City Authority FC are on the verge of partying ways with striker Muhammad Shaban.
Despite his brilliant qualities as a player with prolific goal-scoring abilities, the Kasasiro Boys are reported to be willing to let him leave the club on grounds of indiscipline.
The former Onduparaka FC captain missed Saturday’s Uganda Cup final between KCCA and Vipers SC at Emokori Grounds in Bukedea citing an injury but club head coach Mike Mutebi says that they had no knowledge about the injury.
“Ever since he returned from Niger with the national team, he hasn’t trained. His teammates returned, trained with us and that’s why they featured in the game,” coach Mike told Airtel Football.
"Shaban came back, came to Lugogo, stayed in his car and didn’t inform anyone about his injury that he claims. Here, it’s the medical team that determines who is fit and who isn’t so he is excused from training.”
"Besides, our physio (Ssewanyana) was with the national team as well but knows nothing about Shaban injury,” he explained.
In a league where strikers are a bit scarce and with forward Derrick Nsibambi already gone to Egyptian side Smouha SC, Shaban was to remain as the Yellow Boys main man. However, coach MikeMutebi will be forced to rely on Patrick Kaddu and Congolese international Kanyende especially bearing in mind that his side are still playing in the CAF Champions League.
