Da Costa, Mutebi Promise Entertaining Final Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Showdown

On Heroes Day, Saturday 9th June, all roads for the football fraternity in Uganda will be leading to Emokori Grounds in Bukedea for the 2018 Uganda Cup final between Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC and last year’s cup winners KCCA FC.

Now both head coaches in the names of Jorge Miguel da Costa and Mike Ray Mutebi for Vipers and KCCA respectively have promised an entertaining final ahead of tomorrow’s showdown.

The statements of football promise where echoed during a pre-match press conference held at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.

“We have one game left in this competition and that is the final on Saturday. I will not tell you my tactics but iIcan tell you, we shall are going to play attacking football,” Coach da Costa remarked.

“We are not dreaming about winning the double but we have prepared well to get the best results in the final,” he added.

On the other head, Coach Mike Mutebi had this to say;

“We have prepared well and I am glad to see arguably the best teams in the Final. The boys know each other very well and they are the best players in the Country right now. They have been close as you saw in the league.”

“The game will have special players in Bukedea, this time Allan Okello will not be substituted. Let’s forget about what happened in Kitende during the league. Okello will be in Bukedea to play the final.”

The Venoms are looking to win their first double after clinching a third league title while the Kasasiro Boys hope to salvage their season with a Uganda Cup triumph. Both sides don’t have may worrying injuries but KCCA will be without Mustapha Kizza (injured) and Derrick Nsibambi who recently joined Egyptian side Smouha SC.
