Mbarara City FC stun Express, Police hold Villa as Ohkuti double sinks Maroons

At Kakyeeka Stadium in Mbarara, League debutants Mbarara City Football Club stunned traveling side Express Football Club by 1-0 as Match Day II continued on Saturday in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).

Pistis Barenge scored the only goal of the game as the Ankole Lions beat the Red Eagles to get their first victory of the season, taking them to a tally of four points after drawing 0-0 with Bul FC on opening day.

Elsewhere, Hood Kaweesa came off the bench to score the equalizer as Police Football Club held Sports Club Villa to a 1-all draw at Namboole Stadium on Saturday evening. A first-half strike from Godfrey Lwesibawa had put the Jogoos in front of the Cops.

Away to the Prisons grounds in Luzira, Caesar Samson Okhuti’s second-half double was enough to sink home side Maroons Football Club against Onduparaka FC while Isaac Ntege scored a free kick outside the 18-yards' box as Kirinya Jinja SSS FC shocked Uganda Revenue Authority FC in a 1-0 defeat.

URA’s Richard Kasagga fouled Musa Esenu before Ntege converted the resultant free kick at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.

Meanwhile, at the Bombo military stadium, home side UPDF Football Club held visitors KCCA Football Club to a 1-1 draw with striker Derrick Nsibambi missing a penalty in that game.

Midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba had given KCCA the lead in the 41st minute but Ezekiel Katende came through with an equalizer for the army side just two minutes into the second stanza.
