Reports reaching our desk indicated that Bright Stars Football Club head coach Fred Kajoba, who also doubles as the national team goalkeeping coach has been handed a four match ban.
Kajoba has alleged been found guilty of verbally attacking a match official. Now according to a statement published on the Uganda Premier League Facebook page, he has been banned for four games.
“Bright stars head coach Fred Kajoba has been banned for four games for misconduct in the game between Bright stars and Vipers. He was found guilty of verbally attacking centre referee Dennis Batte.”
The incident in question came during his side’s goalless draw against Vipers Sports Club in their opening Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) encounter on Tuesday evening at the Champion Stadium, Mwererwe.
In that game, Bright Star’s midfielder Jimmy Kakooza was in the 13th minute shown matching orders by the referee for a reckless tackle although both tacticians (Fred Kajoba and Vipers Jorge Miguel Da Costa) admitted the red card was a bit harsh for the player.
Kajoba is likely to be in the stands when Bright Stars travel to Kavumba Recreation Grounds in Wakiso to play Soana FC on Friday in the Uganda Premier League.
