Former Express Football Club tactician Alex Mulibanga Gitta has been appointed to lead newly promoted side Masavu Football Club technical bench in the capacity of head coach.
The CAF class ‘A’ license holder will be deputised by former Uganda Cranes midfielder and Lweza FC gaffer Joseph Mutyaba.
Gitta, who has been working as the club’s technical director during their promotion from the FUFA Big League steps in to feel the void left by ex-Cranes international Alex Isabirye Musongola who had quit his job at Soana FC citing inconsistences in payment to join the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) debutants.
However, Isabirye and Masavu FC part ways barely a week after his appointment on mutual agreement.
Masavu is under the ownership of Anthony Kimuli, a former treasure at the local football governing body (FUFA) during Lawrence Mulindwa’s reign.
Kimuli assumed charge of the club after purchasing it from former own Tonny Ssozi for a fee believed to be in the region of $25,000 USD.
Masavu FC joined the topflight along with Big League champions Maroons FC and Mbarara City FC.
