Like the case is elsewhere across the global albeit the transfer window is yet to be officially opened, clubs are already doing business and league record champions Sports Club Villa are not sitting back to watch.
The Jogoos have signed three players from arch rivals Express Football Club. After losing team skipper Taddeo Lwanga to rivals Vipers Sports Club, the Jogoos have raided Wankulukuku and signed three stars.
Among the three players is right back Mukasa Musa who spent seven years with the Red Eagles and had recently been handed the armband after the departure of Sadam Juma to KCCA FC before the end of the season.
The other two are Mahad Kakooza and Simon Sserunkuma, who returns to the club for a second spell on a two-year deal after stints with Vipers and Express. Sserunkuma joined Villa in 2009 from the now defunct Victors FC for a record 16 million according to online sources (Kawowo).
He also had a spell with Tanzanian giants Simba SC where things didn’t work out for him before his silent return to Muteesa II memorial Stadium. He played for Villa between 2009 & 2014.
The Blues have also signed striker George Senkaaba from Kirinya Jinja SS as well as goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi, who joined on a three-year deal from Agape.
Rumour also has it that coach Wasswa Bbosa is courting former Uganda Premier League MVP Allan Kyambadde who has been at Express on loan from Vipers.
Meanwhile, in addition to Lwanga, Villa have also lost Umar Kasumba, Denis Kamanzi and Patrick Mbowa.
