Uganda Cranes have today kicked off with preparations for their Kitara Region tour that is slated for this weekend on Sunday in Fort Portal.
The training session was conducted outside Nelson Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
The national team head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic recently summoned a squad of 44 players that will be in preparations ahead of the mid-year clash with South Sudan in the Nations for African Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
South Sudan will host the Cranes on 14th July 2017 in the first meeting before a return leg that will be played at week later in Kampala, after which the aggregate winner will progress to meet either Rwanda or Tanzania in the road to the 2018 Total CHAN finals that will be played in Kenya.
But first, the Cranes travel to Fort Portal this weekend for yet another region tour after trips to Mbale and West Nile in the earlier tours.
