Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club have won their 12th record Uganda Premier League title with a 2-0 victory over Lweza Football Club on Tuesday evening at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
After a barren first half, skipper Tom Masiko and sensational striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored penalties as the Kasasiro Boys secured a 2-0 victory over their visitors.
Derrick Nsibambi was awarded a controversial penalty on the one hour mark and Tom Masiko stepped up to convert it to give the yellow boys a lead.
About twenty minutes later, KCCA FC were awarded another penalty which Sserunkuma converted to double the hosts lead in the 80th minute as he extended his personal tally to 20 league goals in the 2016/2017 campaign.
The result further widened the gap between KCCA and a second-placed SC Villa to eight points as the former moved to 60 points. With left with only six points to play for, the result implied that KCCA have defended their league crown.
