I'm still trying to make these boys better—Vipers’ Javier Martinez

New Vipers Sports Club head coach Javier Martinez Espinoza says he was satisfied with his side’s performances in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) opener on Friday 28th September.

The league defending champions condemned newly promoted side of Ndejje University FC by 1-0 at their refurbished home ground of St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

A second half substitute of Davis Kasirye scored a late goal in stoppage time to earn the Venoms all 3 points, and in the aftermath of the game, here is what Javier Martinez had to say about his side’s showcase.

"I'm satisfied with the performance of my team. Ndejje were very good in defending but we were fast in transitions,” Javier Martinez said as quoted on the club’s Facebook page.

“It will take about three to 4 matches for my team to win games conformably. I'm still trying to make these boys better," head added.

Vipers return to action on Tuesday 2nd October 2018 when they make a short trip to the Luzira Prisons Grounds to play Maroons FC, who are under the tutelage of their former boss George ‘Best’ Nsimbe.
