KCCA’s Mike Mutebi Blames Loss To Esperance On Inexperience

Kampala Capital Football Club (KCCA FC) head coach Mike Ray Mutebi has blamed his side’s 3-2 to loss Esperance on inexperience.

Despite having a 2-0 lead in the opening 22 minutes of the game at Stade Olymique De Rades, the Kasasiro Boys went on to lose the tie against the Tunisia giants in the CAF Champions League.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, KCCA gaffer said;

“The naivety and inexperience of my players cost us. We should have won this game.”

“With more experience we should have held on that 2-0 lead and even when they equalized we should have scored the third in a one on one situation but we did not,” he added.

“They (Esperance) had slightly better experience than us and that is how they beat us. But all in all the game was good and we will bounce back in the second leg, Mike Mutebi said.”

The two sides meet again in the second leg next week on Saturday 28th July at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in Kampala, Uganda.
