Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) fell against Tunisia’s Esperance on Tuesday evening as they lost by 3-2 in the CAF Champions League.
The 12-time Uganda Premier League champions squandered away 2-0 goal lead at Stade Olymique De Rades.
Midfielder Jackson Nunda opened the scoring for the visitors inside 18 after slotting the ball past Esperance goalie Moez Ben.
Just four minutes later, the Kasasiro Boys once again caught their hosts on the front foot with team skipper Khalil Chammam giving in to pressure from strike Muhammad Shaban before scoring in the back of his own net.
At the half-hour mark, Belel Magri pulled one back for the home said to make it 1-2 while Saad Gbuir was on target to level matters just three minutes later. It was 2-2 at halftime.
In the second half, KCCA head coach Mike Mutebi made some changes introducing Isaac Kirabira for debutant Gift Ali, striker Patrick Kaddu for Shaban and later on Hassan Musana for Allan Okello.
KCCA held on to the draw but succumbed to pressure with just 8 minutes to full time as Bele Magri struck again to mark his brace on the evening and making it 3-2 for Esperance.
The two sides meet again in less than a fortnight in the return leg that will be played at Namboole Stadium in Kampala on Saturday 28th July 2018 with kick off scheduled for 4pm.
