2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: It’s not going to be an easy match—Ghana's head coach

Ghana head coach James Kwesi Appiah reckons that it won’t be an easy match when his side face off with the Uganda in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“Uganda will play with their supporters so it’s not going to be an easy match but if we are to play at the World Cup, then we have to win this match,” Kwesi Appiah said.

Uganda Cranes host the Black Stars this weekend on Saturday 7th October at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole as the two side continue with their quest for a final slot at the finals in Russia.

When asked about the state of Namboole turf, Appiah acknowledged this being Africa with most pitches not being so nice.

“This is Africa and most pitches are like this so I can’t complain about it,” he noted.

It should be noted that the stadium was used to hold overnight prayers just two days to the showdown between the two sides and the turf was of over stamped.

Uganda and Ghana are Group E of the qualifiers, siting second and third on 7 and 5 points respectively while Egypt are top with 9 points. Congo Brazzaville are bottom with just a single and they play away to the Pharaohs this weekend.
