Striker Derrick Nsibambi came off the bench to snatch the winner and only goal of the game as Uganda’s representatives Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) edged Egyptian side Al-Masry in the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup.
In a highly contested fixture, both side’s efforts were fruitless until the Kasasiro boys got their breakthrough in the last minute of the five added minutes.
Nsibambi netted off a long free-kick from the Yellow boy’s custodian Benjamin Ochan to send the huge crowds at the Phillip Omondi Stadium into celebration.
The two sides are scheduled to meet again next weekend for the return leg.
In the changes made by Coach Mike Ray Mutebi, midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba paved way for striker Derrick Nsibambi at the start of second while Allan Okello and Geoffrey Sserunkuma were withdrawn for Ivan Ntege and Robert Ssentongo respectively.
