Uganda escape with a draw against Senegal

In the game that was played in Dakar, Senegal in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers left the hosts Senegal face a harder side of Cranes and the game ended on a goalless draw.

The home team played without injured Liverpool star Sadio Mane, but still had the likes of Mame Birame Diouf, Ismaila Sarr and experienced goalkeeper Pape Seydou feature in the game.

The two teams created chances, but the finishing was lacking.

“I am glad that we faced a good side and coordinated well. But we must improve on the attacking aspect in the remaining few days,” said the coach.

Sredojevic gave KCCA FC players Benjamin Ochan, Isaac Muleme, and in-form Derrick Nsibambi playing time, while South African based goalkeeper Denis Onyango was rested.

It was the second draw for the Cranes in a few days after they also settled for a 0-0 draw at the Hawassa Stadium against Ethiopia on Saturday.

The national team has used the two international build-up matches to prepare ahead of a 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Cape Verde on Saturday.

The other nations in Group L of the qualifiers include Tanzania and Lesotho.
