Former five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather floored Japanese Tenshin Nasukawa within just 140 seconds in an exhibition boxing bout worth $9m.
The American undefeated champion floored the 20-year-old three times in a very short-lived contest in Japan’s capital Tokyo.
The fight was scheduled for three-minute long rounds each, but was quite short-lived with Nasukawa left in tears as his team threw in the towel.
“It was all about entertainment – we had a lot of fun. They wanted this to happen in Japan, so I said ‘why not?’,” the 41-year-old said.
The fight had earlier been cast in doubt after several hours of delay with social media rumors suggesting that Mayweather wasn’t to turn up after the organisers struggled to get a hold of him.
Despite his return to the ring, the American fighter who came out of retirement to beat Britain’s UFC’s Conor McGregor in a boxing match in August 2017 said he was “still retired”.
