Vipers SC depart for Algeria—CAF Champions League

Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers Sports Club have today evening departed the Pearl of Africa to Algeria for their CAF Champions League engagements.

The Venoms who knocked out Sudan’s El Merreikh on a 2-2 aggregate (advancing on away goals rule) in the preliminary round of the continental completion are due to face off with Algeria’s CS Constantine.

The first league of the double-headed fixture is slated for Friday 14th December 2018 at Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui in the city of Constantine at 9:00 PM (EAT) in a battle for a slot at the group stage of the competition.

The Kitende based club are however without their Captain Tadeo Lwanga and Geofrey Wasswa who are both suspended for the fixture after accumulating two yellow cards in their preliminary round against El Merreikh.

Here is the 18 man traveling squad as named by head coach Javier Martinez Espinoza;

Goalkeepers: Bashir Ssekagya & Derrick Ochan

Defenders: Ibrahim Kiyemba, Livingstone Mulonfo, Bashir Asiku, Halid Lwaliwa, Yayo Lutimba

Midfielders: Moses Waiswa, Tom Masiko, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Duncan Sseninde, Brian Nkuubi, Abraham Ndugwa, Noah Wafula

Forwards: Tito Okello, Davis Kairye, Joseph Jjanjali, Dan Sserunkuma
