Nyamityobora Football Club have named Asaph Mwebaze as their new head coach on a three-year deal.
The former Maroons Football Club gaffer who had recently just parted ways with Arua based side Onduparaka Football Club takes over the mantle of Nyamityobora FC following the sacking of James Odoch who was faulted for under-delivering in terms of results.
The development was however confirmed in the wee hours of Thursday night when the club share photos of Asaph Mwebaze posing with the club’s top level leaders in names of Eng Ben Immanuel Misagga and Ali Ssekatawa and released a brief publication on their social media platforms.
“Done deal. Asaph Mwebaze has been appointed as the head coach of Nyamityobora for the next three years. He shall be on the lead as Nyamityobora plays SC Villa on Friday at Wankulukuku. Welcome to Nyamityobora Asaph. Let’s show him some love,” reads the publication in a Facebook post.
This quelled reports that had been circulated earlier that former Tooro United FC boss Alex Isabirye Musongoola had been appointed as the new lead tactician for the “Abanyakare”.
“My immediate task is to drive Nyamityobora back on track and see to it that we avoid the chop at the end of the season which I think is very possible, then we look at competing at top level the following season.”
