Okello, Awany on target as KCCA FC condemn Onduparaka FC in Arua

Allan Okello, Mustafa Kizza & Kaddu celebrate

Youngster Allan Okello was the early bird on target as Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) condemned Onduparaka Football Club by 2-0 at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.

Okello brushed off Mustafa Kizza’s brilliant cross to beat the Caterpillars’ goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato, giving the visitors an early 8th minute lead and sending the home fans into a graveyard level of silence as the game was being televised live on Sanyuka TV.

Moments later, striker Patrick Kaddu came close to doubling the lead but was flagged offside and on the opposite side of the pitch, just minutes later, Onduparaka’s Nicholas Kagaba forced Charles Lukwago into an acrobatic save with a thunderous shot as he tipped the ball over the bar.

As the clock ran down on the first half, KCCA right back Filbert Obenchan produced two heroic blocks as Asaph Mwebaze’s side intensified their quest for an equalizer but all was in vain.

Early into the second half, coach Mike Mutebi made amends as he withdrew Jackson Nunda for attacking midfielder and summer recruit Allan Kyambadde in the 49th minute while at the half hour mark, the hosts made a double substitution, introducing striker Caesar Samson Okhuti and Kabong, withdrawing Kagaba and Okwalinga Solomon.

However, it was the visitors that benefited from their efforts as skipper Timothy Awany netted to double the lead.

Later on, goal scorer Allan Okello was withdrawn for Lawrence Bukenya as the travellers fought and successfully fended off further efforts from the Arua based side, beating them by 2-0 and handing them their second defeat in 32 Uganda Premier League home games.
