Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien has summoned a 30-man squad for Uganda’s Group L Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Tanzania.

The Cranes are scheduled to host the Taifa Stars next month on September 8th 2018 at Mandela National Stadium in the Total AFCON Qualifiers opener for the two neighbouring countries.

Desabre named the squad during Wednesday’s weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.

According to the team’s schedule, the local based players will kick off their preparation on September 1st at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo while the rest will be expected to join the team on 3rd at Namboole for residential training.

While addressing the media, Desabre expressed his optimism in the players summoned before going on to comment about Denis Onyango’s injury status. It should be noted that the Cranes’ number one goalie and captain suffered a concussion while playing for his club Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa which saw him rushed to hospital about a week ago.

“I am confident in the players summoned. All the players are very motivated and ready to give their best. Personally, i have done the research and follow up on most players. We shall start training on 1st September 2018 with a crop of locally based players before the rest of the foreign based will join on 3rd September,” reads an expert on the federation’s website.
